- DB knowledge required
We have an user team looking at UC4 AM, if they buy it my dept will be responsible for the upkeep of its infrastructure, user management, security, setting standards and designing best practices.
So my first question is exactly how much Oracle knowledge is required to run UC4 AM with Oracle Financials?
My next question is how easily can it be integrated with other non-UC4 schedulers?
Thanks

- x86
Good Evening,
Our organisation is currently analyzing the pro's/con's of moving to a full x86 architecture driven by the global "CREDIT CRUNCH" of all things.
It seems like there is no escape from the propaganda especially if it can infiltrate Workload Automation.
On a more serious note, there are the obvious monetary cost reductions seen by moving to full x86. The clearly outlined hex cores on Intel and AMD's road maps spark further enthusiasm if one is to believe the throughput being advertised. With these points in mind how does x86 compare with its SPARC or equivalent?
The vast throughput of the chips and the array of platforms now capable of running on x86, opens the flood gates on questions for infrastructure teams. With the alliance of SUN with x86 architecture now enterprises now have the choice of Windows, Linux or Solaris platforms, but which OS performs the best on the underlying architecture, harnessing the chipsets to their maximum performance?
I realise the core UNIX bods around will vouch for RISK architecture only, however I'm interested in experiences and opinions as it would appear that x86 popularity is growing, if only driven by the "CREDIT" monster.
All comments welcome.
Thanks

Just a quick note to say that CA dSeries is now officially called CA Workload Automation R11.1, and that the old name pre-dSeries is 'ESPRESSO', not 'EXpresso'.
